Privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
Tenlet helps people in San Francisco find short-term sublets. Our agent, Scout, learns what you're looking for and suggests places that fit. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. Tenlet is in an early pilot, and we keep what we collect to what the service needs.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name, email address and profile photo from the sign-in method you choose (Google, LinkedIn or an email link), and which methods you've used. If you sign in with LinkedIn, we note that your LinkedIn account is connected.
- What you tell Scout. Your conversation with Scout and the search profile built from it: budget, dates, neighborhoods, the kind of place you want, must-haves and deal-breakers, and anything you choose to share about yourself and the people you'd like to live with. A profile photo, if you add one.
- Your activity. The matches we show you, the ones you save or dismiss (and why, if you say), and the introductions you ask for.
- Feedback you send us, the page you sent it from, and your browser type.
- Technical data needed to run the site, such as server logs. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run your account and decide when your access to matches opens (Tenlet is invite-only during the pilot).
- To find and rank housing that fits what you asked for, and to explain why each place might fit.
- To make introductions you request. We share only what's needed for that introduction, and only after you ask for it.
- To email you about your account, your matches and your introductions, and to answer your feedback.
- To improve Scout's matching. People at Tenlet may review matches and conversations to check their quality.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Fair housing
Scout doesn't ask about race, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, family status or other protected characteristics, and it doesn't guess them from your name or photo. Preferences about housemates are used only to match you with shared housing, and only when you state them yourself.
Listings and the people who post them
Scout's suggestions include housing posts that were shared publicly or in communities we take part in. We show summaries of those posts, never the poster's contact details, and introductions go through our team. If you posted a listing and want it removed from Tenlet, email us and we'll remove it.
Who helps us run Tenlet
We use these service providers. Each handles your data only to provide its service to us.
- Supabase: database and sign-in.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Anthropic: the AI model that powers Scout's conversations and match explanations.
- Resend: sending email.
- Google and LinkedIn: sign-in, if you choose them. They share your name, email and photo with us.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, conversations, matches and feedback within 30 days, apart from anything we must keep by law.
Your choices
- You can see and change your search profile in Tenlet at any time.
- You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email support@tenlet.co.
- You can unsubscribe from any non-essential email we send.
Security
Your data is stored with access controls so that only you, and the Tenlet team where needed to run the service, can see it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you.
Age
Tenlet is for people 18 and older.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you by email.
